Bram de Wijs is 20 years old and he likes to be busy. He plays
drums in two touring punkrockbands, he runs the independent label
Stuck In A Day Records and he writes songs for his soloproject Impossible
Situations. He also designs cd-sleeves and websites for the bands
on his label, he books labelshows and records music in his homestudio
in Amersfoort. And he still manages to find time for his Digital
Media Design studies and writing his first novel.
With Impossible Situations Bram is very much in a search for a
balance between experimental pop (his passion) and punkrock (his
roots). The guitars and beats finally melt together on the ep "The
Difference Between Facts And Fiction". This cd is proclaimed
Demo of the Month by Dutch magazine FRET and receives airplay on
national radiostation KINK FM, even before it's release.
Important influences -besides the Beatles and Green Day of course-
are Hellogoodbye, Eels,, Michael Jackson, Cake and Travoltas.
The music rocks, it makes you dance, it surprises you. The lyrics
are upright and in your face, sometimes shameless. Bram doesn't
like to be mysterious. He sings about sex. And... about boys. |
